Veo Friis Jespersen

The book presents an extensive selection of the Danish sculptor/photographer Veo Friis Jespersen’s exhibitions, public sculptures, installations, and photographs from the period 2025–2009.

Over the years, Veo Friis Jespersen’s art has offered us a way of seeing the world in which her use of materials and her simplicity of expression prove to be, indeed, essential. One could say that in her ongoing, constant, and critical dialogue with materials and works, possibilities for transformation and the creation of another space emerge.

Elements of nature and culture exist side by side in her works. They are not opposites here, but rather conditions for one another. The relationships and juxtapositions of materials speak to us—to our time and culture—with immediacy, clarity, and perhaps also a sense of spirituality or an awareness that there is something beyond.

With essays by Sigrun Alba Sigurdardottir and Magnus Thorøe Clausen, texts and poems by Veo Friis Jespersen.
