Bane/ Tracks  Finn Larsen

"The photographs in this book are perhaps most of all about a presence in a landscape which has significance - and not merely utilitarian value as therapy for restless spirit and disoriented souls. They have come into being over years along the railway stretch Randers - Århus, 58 km trekked and re-trekked during the course of various seasons and weather conditions; up and down embankments , and have formed expressions of biotopes that are images own food chain.(...)

Finn Larsen roams the landscape, doing so naturally - however dismissive of romantic reminiscences. This "pastoral" pictures possess a complete absence of provincialism." (Martin Sne, Introduction)

Finn Larsen was born in 1956 in Djursland, Denmark, and has lived in Malmö, Sweden, since 2004. He finished his training as a photographer in 1980 at the Museum of Cultural History in Randers, now part of Museum Østjylland.
